Hi,
I used to be one of your colleagues at University Hospital Southampton...
For 20 years Angelika worked in the Blood Transfusion Department at Southampton General Hospital and was breathing and living all things blood group and antibodies. She also spent a lot of time training and had a keen interest in her colleagues' wellbeing.
Since May this year Angelika is taking time for herself and a re-direction. Angelika's first project is the SpaBar, her vision of an outdoor spa to aid relaxation and connection to nature.
Angelika's experience and observation was that often a safe space outdoors, and a booked appointment with oneself, is what is required to relax and re-charge. Angelika and her husband Ricky have decided to open up their garden to all of their colleagues in order to have that opportunity without breaking the bank. It is "free" to use in exchange of 20 minutes help to look after it. Oh, and of course they'll throw in a cuppa and a slice of cake!
On offer so far are ......
- a private garden in the New Forest
- plenty of wildlife including dragon flies, newts, plenty of birds, our cats and visiting deer (but you'd probably have to sit still for at least an hour ;-))
- a covered reading area with books to peruse
- a couple of sun loungers
- a hammock down by the stream and a view of the horses in the field behind
- unlimited tea and coffee
- home-made cake (be sure to let me know of any dietary requirements)
- a firebowl and marshmallows
- an opportunity for some online Yoga sessions, surrounded by peaceful countryside.
Angelika's vision for the future includes a space for massages and other relaxation and beauty treatments (by professionals of course!), a barefoot path, a cold water plunge pool, flying angels target practice, a sauna, a hollywood swing...
If you would like to see what developments take place, why not sign up to the SpaBar newsletter? This will pop into your inbox no more than every other month - maximum!
